Portland’s 48 Hour Horror Sci Fi Film Festival

A wild ride and a film we are very proud of.

A few months ago I joined a team for the Portland 48 Hour Film Festival as the First Assistant Director. Such a great group of people and a collaborative effort to make a short film (under 7 minutes) in 48 hours. Completely make a film. From getting the prompts to the brainstorming, writing, rehearsing, set design, gathering props, wardrobe, setting up, a location move, shooting the footage, editing, and scoring. Wow – a wild ride for sure. But proof that you can make a great short film in TWO DAYS. The rewarding part – spending a weekend with this incredible team Radical Softies. The bonus – winning Best Film, Best Writer, Best Art Direction/Production Design and Best Use of Prop.

BTS photos are on my instagram if you want to see some behind the scenes action. We filmed part of the day in the woods and they other part in a very creepy basement in downtown Portland.
