Dawn Sellers is a Portland-based filmmaker and screenwriter whose work spans writing, directing, producing, and voice acting. As co-founder of Broken Toe Productions, she creates bold, character-centered stories for film and has earned multiple screenwriting and film awards.
Her film credits include Almost Boston, writer, director, and producer, screened at several festivals. Awards for this film include Best Comedy Series Episode, Oregon Short Film Festival and Portland Comedy Film Festival (2024), Finalist Best Oregon Short Film, Official Selection Hillsboro Film Festival (2025), Finalist, Best Comedy, Valkyrie International Film Festival (2025), Keep Portland Weird Award, Portland Under the Stars (2025). Additional credits include Literally Lost (writer, director, producer, editor, sound), Witch of the Faded Forest (director), Oh Myh Dating Hell (assistant director, voice over), Propre (script doctor), In Person (script supervisor), My Right (lead actor), and Mi Amour (creative director). She also produces and hosts the Oregon Indie Film Podcast.
A committed advocate for independent film, Dawn Sellers co-founded POV Filmmakers, a Portland nonprofit supporting independent creators, and has held leadership roles with Women in Film Portland and the International Screenwriters Association.
